Manchester (Northern Region)

Competitive salary + car & package

Tempest Jones are delighted to be working with the development arm of the UK’s largest provider of affordable housing. They are using their experience, scale and financial strength to deliver new homes and communities across the country. These are at a range of price points and tenures from private sale to social rent - with any profits generated invested back into social purpose. With a 5-star Customer Experience rating they are a sector leader in developing sustainable city centre brownfield regeneration and greenfield large scale garden community developments. They are focused on land led projects with a dedicated in-house capability in land acquisition, planning and pre-construction, delivering their projects in collaboration with contracting partners. They also have a strong track record on regenerating existing estates and breathing new life into communities.

The role involves leading the Northern region's Project Management (pre-construction), Design Management and Cost Planning activities as a Director of Project Management & Commercial. You will act as a leader in the Project Management and Commercial department, which is critical in the success of our client’s development ambitions. The team’s responsibilities include design & technical consulting, ensuring the successful conversion of development briefs into risk-free and guaranteed designs and solutions that their partnering contractors can deliver. This team is integral to ensuring the deliverability of their projects during all pre-construction stages.

The candidate should possess substantial experience in property development, having directly managed pre-construction teams in the past. This role demands substantial technical expertise and knowledge, which could be acquired through work experience at a commercial developer or a contractor. However, a consultancy background may be considered if the candidate's experience is directly relevant to project management and meets all the established criteria. A proven track record of successfully handling medium to large-scale residential projects is crucial. We expect the candidate to have already obtained appropriate development/construction qualifications. Membership of a relevant chartered institution is preferable.

For the right candidate, our client can offer an extremely competitive salary, along with generous car allowance, bonus, family health cover, excellent pension scheme and flexible holidays system. This is an exciting time to join the company in its time of growth that not only offers you the opportunity to develop your career but also offers the chance to develop your personal goals within a good work life balance environment.

For more information and a confidential conversation about the role please apply now by submitting your CV or contact John at or on 07885 774 155.
