The business has built real momentum in recent years and now has a well established Project Management and Cost Management presence across the region. Project Management is at the centre of what they do. It is not a bolt on service. Their PMs work closely with clients from early stage project strategy and pre contract advice, through to delivery, contract administration and successful handover.

They have an excellent culture, strong staff retention and a clear track record of investing in their people. This includes structured career development, chartership support and the chance to work in a team where people are given proper guidance, responsibility and room to grow.

The Opportunity

As Project Manager, you will support the delivery of construction projects across sectors including housing, education and local government. You will be involved from the early pre contract stages, helping clients shape projects, manage risk, appoint teams and move schemes towards delivery. You will then support the project through the construction phase, administering contracts, managing stakeholders and making sure the contractor is delivering in line with programme, cost and quality expectations.

This is a client facing role and would suit someone who enjoys being close to the detail, building relationships and taking ownership of project outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing construction projects through pre contract and post contract stages
  • Supporting clients with early stage project planning, procurement and delivery strategy
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders
  • Assisting with Employer’s Agent and Contract Administration duties
  • Managing project programmes, budgets, risks and reporting
  • Chairing meetings and producing clear project documentation
  • Coordinating design teams, consultants and contractors
  • Monitoring contractor performance during delivery
  • Supporting change control, governance and project reporting processes
  • Helping ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the required standard
  • Supporting junior team members as your experience develops

  • An Assistant Project Manager ready for a genuine step up
  • A Project Manager looking for better projects, stronger support and more progression
  • A PM who is developing towards Senior Project Manager level

You should have experience in construction, property or built environment project delivery. To be considered, you should ideally have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a construction related role
  • Experience supporting or managing projects through the project lifecycle
  • A good understanding of pre contract and post contract project delivery
  • Strong client facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Good programme, reporting and organisational ability
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and ideally Microsoft Project
  • A proactive, professional and solutions focused approach
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable experience includes:

  • Experience in housing, education or local government projects
  • Experience working in a consultancy, client side or professional PM environment
  • Exposure to Design and Build procurement
  • Employer’s Agent or Contract Administration experience
  • A construction related degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Working towards APM, RICS, CIOB or another relevant professional qualification
