Our client, a leading consultancy, is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Lead to work on a major healthcare capital programme. This is a high-profile opportunity requiring significant NEC4 ECC expertise and experience of establishing and operating effective contract management arrangements across large, complex projects and programmes. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing the contract management function, supporting contract formation and administration and ensuring robust governance, performance management and reporting arrangements are in place.

The role

As Contracts Lead, you will take responsibility for the development and implementation of effective contract management arrangements. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading contract formation and mobilisation for NEC4 ECC contracts
  • Establishing appropriate contract management strategies, governance and operating procedures
  • Supporting client organisations through contract readiness and execution
  • Developing and implementing contract management systems, processes and tools
  • Establishing consistent contract reporting arrangements
  • Developing performance regimes, KPIs and appropriate intervention protocols
  • Acting as a senior point of contact between client organisations, contractors, project managers and commercial teams
  • Supporting the onboarding of programme and delivery partners
  • Providing technical guidance and training in relation to NEC4 ECC
  • Supporting the development of post-award contract management strategies
  • Contributing to programme assurance, continuous improvement and lessons learned

About you

We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience of NEC4 ECC contract management
  • A strong track record working on major projects or programmes
  • Experience establishing contract governance and management processes
  • Strong knowledge of public sector procurement and contract governance
  • Experience developing and implementing performance and incentive arrangements
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • The ability to operate effectively across complex organisational and contractual interfaces
  • Experience of collaborative or alliance-style contracting would be advantageous
  • Healthcare experience would be beneficial but is not essential
