Tempeo is recruiting for a skilled and reliable Domestic Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join a well-established and growing business based in Kettering. This is a maintenance-focused role working across residential and light commercial properties, ideal for an engineer with strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair works across a variety of plumbing and heating systems. The role is primarily reactive and diagnostic, requiring a logical approach to identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Heating Works
- Boiler diagnostics, servicing and repairs
- Domestic gas appliance work
- Fault finding on heating systems including controls, pumps and expansion vessels
- Servicing unvented and vented cylinders
- Underfloor heating diagnostics
- Resolving system pressure and water quality issues
- Diagnosing and repairing leaks, taps, mixers and sanitaryware
- Shower fault-finding (pressure, temperature and thermostatic issues)
- Toilet repairs and replacements (valves, siphons, ball valves)
- Pipework alterations and upgrades
- Investigating visible and concealed leaks
- Resolving hot and cold water pressure issues
- Clearing blockages across kitchens and bathrooms
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating
- ACS Domestic Gas qualifications (required)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in reactive maintenance
- Full UK driving licence
- Own hand tools
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
