Position: Dental Workplace Assessor – Part time (1‑2 days per week)
Location: South Wales
Role Overview: You’ll work closely with learners, employers and the Tempdent team to ensure apprentices progress successfully and are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment (EPA).
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and carry out workplace assessments for Dental Nursing learners within required timelines
- Communicate effectively with practice managers and learners when arranging assessment visits
- Ensure all relevant clinical treatments are booked and ready for observation
- Provide constructive and supportive feedback to learners and employers
- Manage your own assessment diary to maximise assessment opportunities
- Maintain accurate and timely completion of assessment documentation
- Support a caseload of learners and prepare them for End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Conduct Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities checks within dental practices
- Facilitate communication between learners, employers and Tempdent
- Attend team meetings, handovers and standardisation sessions
- Work towards agreed targets and KPIs
- Maintain GDC registration and CPD requirements
- Promote safeguarding, equality, and best practice across all training environments
Qualifications:
- Qualified GDC registered Dental Nurse Assessor qualification (CAVA or TAQA) or willing to acquire
- Experience working in dental practice
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Confident using office software and digital systems
- Ability to motivate and support learners
- Experience assessing Dental Nursing qualifications or apprenticeships would be beneficial
- Teaching or training qualification (AiET or willing to acquire)
- Knowledge of or experience working in work-based learning or apprenticeships
- Passionate about developing future dental professionals
- Confident to build strong relationships with learners and employers
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Confident to communicate clearly and professionally
- Maintains high professional and clinical standards

Salary and Working Hours:
Salary: up to £30,000 per annum pro‑rate for candidates with relevant qualifications and experience. For candidates that are not yet CAVA qualified, we will be fully supportive to achieve this qualification with a starting salary of up to £28,500 per annum pro‑rate.
Hours: part‑time (1‑2 days per week)
