We have an opportunity for a candidate to join our longstanding Clients Linehaul Operations team on a temporary basis. The role is responsible for supporting daily operational activities, driver coordination, fleet management, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Contract: Temporary 6 months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2x 14:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs & 20:00 hrs to 04:00 hrs
Review: Following the six-month period, the role will be reviewed and may be advertised as a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assigning drivers and vehicles to scheduled linehaul runs and ad-hoc extra movements
- Printing scan sheets, run plans, and driver instructions (including agency drivers)
- Reporting and logging tyre defects on trucks and trailers
- Requesting agency cover for holidays, sickness, and additional collections
- Producing and managing the daily VOR report and overseeing fleet maintenance activity
- Liaising with the fleet maintenance team and third-party providers for servicing and repairs
- Downloading vehicles and updating system records
- Building and amending tours using ROCS Operate/Manage
- Communicating throughout the day with drivers, providing updates to runs and changes as required
- Dispatching and debriefing drivers
- Uniform ordering
- Liaising with planning and scheduling teams for weekend and bank holiday tours
- Conducting agency inductions
- Managing email communications between stations, hubs, customers, and sales account managers
- Dealing with vehicle breakdowns and operational disruptions
