Temp Station is delighted to announce we are currently recruiting a Transport Planning Assistant to join a busy and established freight forwarding client in the Normanton WF6 area on a permanent basis.
Transport Planning Assistant Job Description:
- Assist in ensuring the planned runs are achieved in a timely manner, exceeding customer needs.
- Communicate with the operations department, customers, and hauliers.
- Manage all PODs, upload them into the TMS, and send any POD requests to the customer or colleague.
- Keep the transport and sub-contractor log up to date.
- Speak to drivers throughout the day, check on progress, and deal with any issues that may arise during the shift.
- Follow and improve processes related to performance.
- Book out-of-area or hazardous jobs onto the pallet network/Hazchem portals.
- Provide quotes internally and externally via calls and emails.
- Provide holiday cover for the planners.
- Be the lead planner during periods of annual leave throughout the year.
- MUST have at least 3 years’ experience working in a fast-paced transport department.
- MUST understand drivers’ working hours and driving time regulations.
- MUST have a good geographical understanding of the UK road networks.
