Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum + Discretionary Performance Bonus & Premium Benefits
Temp All Staffing is proud to partner with a highly successful, modern, multi-discipline regional law firm seeking an ambitious Corporate and Commercial Solicitor to join their expanding team. Our client stands out from traditional firms by championing a modern, practical, and highly collaborative working environment. They focus entirely on delivering clear, jargon-free results for their clients rather than getting bogged down in rigid legal theory. Experiencing continuous organic growth over the last decade, the firm primarily services owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and corporate entities across the region.
The Role
This is far more than a routine case-handling position. Our client is looking for an entrepreneurial solicitor who wants to actively shape the future of the department, cultivate lasting client networks, and contribute to the firm's commercial success. You will work on high-value regional transactions alongside experienced partners, benefiting from tailored career progression pathways and modern legal tech infrastructure.
Reward and Recognition
- Base Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
- Performance-related discretionary bonus scheme.
- 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days.
- True hybrid and flexible working structures.
- Comprehensive benefits package including permanent health insurance and life assurance.
- Fully funded professional memberships and continuous professional development (CPD) support.
- Contributory pension and discounted staff legal services.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Transactions: Manage a varied caseload of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate restructurings, management buyouts (MBOs), and share schemes.
- Commercial Contracts: Draft and negotiate complex day-to-day trading agreements, supply contracts, distribution agreements, and standard terms of business.
- Banking & Finance: Assist corporate clients and lenders on refinancing deals, corporate banking, and secured lending structures.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted business adviser, delivering clear, practical, and risk-managed recommendations rather than just listing legal options.
- Business Development: Proactively build local professional networks, identify cross-selling opportunities across the firm’s other divisions, and collaborate with marketing to execute a personal growth plan.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior fee earners, helping to develop their commercial acumen and technical skills.
The team consistently handles sophisticated, high-quality legal work that rivals major regional players. To give you an idea of the breadth of their expertise, recent matters handled by the team include:
- Diverse Corporate M&A: Advising on high-value share and asset sales across a variety of sectors, including heavily regulated industries, manufacturing, transport, and healthcare.
- Corporate Reorganisations: Executing complex corporate restructurings, including demergers and the establishment of bespoke investment vehicles.
- Succession & Incentives: Guiding business owners through forward-thinking succession planning, including employee ownership trust frameworks and employee share incentive structures.
- Commercial Agreements: Drafting bespoke commercial contracts, distribution frameworks, partnership arrangements, and comprehensive shareholder agreements.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor: Possess strong technical expertise in corporate and commercial law with sharp attention to detail.
- Commercially Driven: Energetic and solutions-focused, with a natural ability to look at the bigger picture for business owners.
- Network Builder: A strong track record of or a clear passion for business development. A client following is welcomed but not essential; a credible ability to nurture relationships and referrers is highly valued.
- Collaborative Leader: Comfortable taking ownership of complex matters while supporting the wider team's professional development.
