We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Deputy Shop Manager, who loves working with people, to work 22.5 hours (3 days) per week. Our Lampeter shop is located in the heart of the community, offers a warm welcome and is very well supported. About the role: As a Deputy Shop Manager, you\'ll join our friendly and experienced paid team in our busy charity shop. The Lampeter shop trades 6 days a week; as Deputy Shop Manager you\'ll work 3 days (22.5 hours) a week. Your main duties will be to ensure efficient stock management from point-of-donation to point-of-sale, supervising a team of dedicated volunteers and leading by example in providing excellent service to our supporters. About our Lampeter shop: We have recently relocated our Lampeter store to a larger premises next to the clock tower, on the High Street. Being a larger store, the new shop will require high volumes of stock to be received and processed. The team will continue to work efficiently and proactively to ensure the store remains full of fresh stock and income is maximised. In contrast to the current location, the store will have a large window space which is a great opportunity to highlight some of the items available for sale and demonstrate the merchandising skills of the team. The opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 5.00pm. About you: We would love to hear from candidates who are able to work well within a small team, have previous retail experience, possess a great attitude and willingness to learn, and have a drive to provide excellent customer service that will enable the shop to maximise sales and profits to support the fantastic care Ty Hafan provides to children and their families. Retail bonus scheme (subject to Shop Performance) Ty Hafan currently has 17 charity shops, geographically spread from Cardigan in the west of Wales to Cwmbran in the east. Our dedicated Retail team plays a key role in raising essential funds to enable Ty Hafan’s care provision through our hospice and community programmes which support life-limited children and their families in Wales. We strive to be an innovative, supportive, and agile team, working to collectively deliver ambitious goals. Our retail network raises money for the Charity from the sale of donated goods (mainly clothing, bric-a-brac and household goods) to the general public, a small amount of bought-in ‘new’ goods, and the sale of tickets for the charity’s ‘Crackerjackpot’ weekly lottery. Income is also generated from cash donations, gift aid on donated goods and the sale of waste clothing and household goods to recycling merchants. Each salaried Shop Manager is supported by 1 or 2 salaried deputies or a salaried Sales Assistant and a team of volunteers.
