Senior Product Manager - Mortgages

2026 is a defining year for Tembo. Our focus is not just on growing the proposition further, but on scaling the engine behind it. That means making our team of 100+ advisers and operational colleagues dramatically more efficient through better products, better workflows, stronger automation, and smart application of AI. This role sits at the centre of that challenge. You’ll work across both our customer-facing mortgage experience and the internal tools, workflows and automations that power the business behind the scenes. You’ll be expected to deliver measurable impact against the metrics that matter most, especially automation performance and mortgages per adviser. AI will be a major part of that story. Tembo is not building foundation models, and we are not trying to be an AI startup. But we are investing heavily in how AI can be applied to the mortgage problem, and we expect to be at the leading edge of how AI is used in a consumer-facing mortgage business. This person will play a major role in identifying where AI can create real value and then turning those opportunities into shipped product.

What you’ll do:

• Product development across our mortgage journey, spanning both customer-facing experiences and internal tools.
• Build products, workflows and automations that help advisers and operational teams work faster, better and with less manual effort.
• Identify high-impact opportunities to apply AI across the mortgage journey, both for customers and internal teams.
• Work closely with advisers, operations, engineering, design, data, compliance and leadership to solve meaningful business problems.
• Go deep into customer needs, operational bottlenecks and team workflows, and turn those insights into practical product improvements.
• Own initiatives end to end, from research and hypothesis through to design, execution, testing, launch and iteration.
• Drive measurable improvements in efficiency, automation and mortgages per adviser.

How we work:

Tembo’s culture is highly hands-on. Senior colleagues are expected to own both strategy and execution. This is not a role for someone who wants to spend weeks in roadmap tools or operate at a distance from delivery. It’s a role for someone who wants to get close to the problem, research it properly, form strong hypotheses, design smart solutions, and then execute, test, ship and measure their work. You should be just as comfortable thinking strategically as you are getting into the detail. At Tembo, it matters just as much that you can investigate, shape and design the right solution as it does that you can get it live and prove its impact.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong product management experience, ideally in mortgages, fintech, banking, or another complex operational environment.
• A track record of shipping meaningful product improvements and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Experience working across both customer-facing products and internal tools or workflow systems.
• Strong analytical and commercial judgement, with a clear focus on impact.
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
• Strong instinct for where AI can create genuine value in a real operating business.
• A highly hands-on approach, with comfort moving between strategy, discovery, design and execution.
• Someone who is motivated by solving hard problems, improving systems, and moving the metrics that matter.
