We are rebuilding the energy transaction system, making it transparent and fair. Our product, RED™, built on a proprietary pricing engine that bypasses the wholesale market, enables businesses to buy the energy produced by renewable generators directly. That’s 100% transparent transactions, ensuring affordable bills and fair compensation, to give every business ownership and control over where their energy comes from. Since launching in 2021, we’ve saved UK businesses and generators over £20 million, powering a growing network of forward-thinking companies.
We’re hiring an Operations Manager to build the clarity, structure and rhythm that keep our operational engine running smoothly as we scale. Your job is to design the system that enables the team to perform consistently, make high quality decisions and avoid becoming overwhelmed as complexity grows. This is an M1 role focused on strong management, operational structure, throughput and continuous improvement.
You bring a deep understanding of how operations work in high growth, high functioning tech companies, ideally those facing regulatory or structural complexity like fintech. Your work ensures Ops can lean on internal energy expertise while you define what great execution looks like, create mechanisms for predictable performance and build ways of working that scale. You’ll partner with CX, Product, Data and Sales to ensure operational processes are aligned, efficient and grounded in clear ownership.
As we grow, Operations will evolve rapidly, influenced by automation, data layers and expanding workflows. You should expect change and be energised by shaping the backbone of a category defining company.
Responsibilities
- Build and own the operational system that gives the team clarity, structure and predictable rhythm as work scales.
- Define and standardise workflows, processes and decision frameworks that stabilise workload and reduce ambiguity.
- Drive ruthless prioritisation, clarify which bets to take, and lead our AI strategy to automate low-value work, accelerate impact, and free the team to focus on the highest-value outcomes.
- Partner closely with the team to translate energy expertise into operational clarity, ensuring the team has what they need to operate with confidence.
- Collaborate with CX, Product, Data and Sales to design processes that minimise friction across the customer lifecycle.
- Create documentation, dashboards and feedback loops that make performance visible and drive continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop the Ops team through clear expectations, consistent management and structured improvement.
- Lead capacity planning and identify when systems need to evolve so the team does not reach overwhelm as volume grows.
- Ensure operational insights feed into product and system improvements, turning signals into action.
Requirements
Must haves
- Experience running operations in a high growth tech environment, ideally in industries with regulatory or operational complexity (for example, fintech).
- Strong system design capability - able to build workflows, structures and mechanisms that scale.
- Demonstrated success managing people through coaching, clarity and performance expectations.
- Operational discipline with the ability to create predictable throughput and reduce team overwhelm.
- Excellent cross functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical and structured, able to turn data, signals and feedback into well designed operational improvements.
Bonus points
- Exposure to energy, utilities or other complex service environments (but not required due to strong internal domain knowledge).
- Background in operational tooling, automation or workflow optimisation.
- Experience scaling teams from early stage to high functioning maturity.
- Familiarity with regulated markets or compliance heavy operations.
Benefits and Perks
- Salary aligned to internal benchmarks and reviewed twice a year.
- Stock options so everyone has ownership in our mission.
- 25 days holiday plus public holidays, with flexibility to swap the ones that matter most.
- Birthday off.
- Remote first working with clear core hours and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons.
- Home working and wellbeing budgets: Up to £1,200/€1,200 per year for your remote setup. Up to £150/€150 per month for wellbeing.
