We are looking for a Canadian French Language Specialist to join our AI Team in London. The role is hybrid.
Responsibilities:
- Annotation
- Rating
- Localization/Internationalization
- Finding patterns
- Evaluating existing data
- Guidelines/style guides creation
Ideal candidates will be:
- Native in the target language with a good understanding or working experience with its regional variety spoken in Canada.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Solid and comprehensive understanding of the formal aspects of the target language (e.g., grammar, parts of speech, formal/casual/dialects)
- Knowledge/awareness of linguistic terms and concepts
- Evaluation, rating or data collection tasks
- Localization tasks, including localizing across regional varieties of the target language
- Creation of linguistic style guides
- Interest in the current technology landscape: IT & computing, AI, machine learning, voice assistants, internet of things
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with confidence and little oversight
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Grasping technical concepts and learning new tools
Extra Points For:
- Experience using NLP tools and concepts or interest in growing towards NLP tasks, e.g., creating grammar rules and formulating language templates
- Experience in annotation work
- Some knowledge of programming/coding (e.g., Python, R, regular expressions, HTML, C+)
- Experience or skills around testing, data processing, database management
- Formal linguistic education is a plus
Full training on tools and processes to be used will be provided. Candidates must be ready to relocate for this on-site position. Candidates could be students in the late stages of their studies.
