ABOUT TELUS FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY: TELUS Food Safety & Quality is a powerful web and mobile platform that enables food businesses to reduce waste, minimize recalls, and drive end-to-end supply chain transparency. Our cloud-based solution empowers Food Processors, Consumer Packaged Goods companies, and Retail Grocers to embed robust standards across their operations — with powerful reporting, real-time alerts, automated compliance tools, ERP integration, and predictive analysis capabilities.

OUR TEAM AND WHAT WE'LL ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER: Our team is a diverse group of talented professionals dedicated to creating cutting-edge products that make a measurable difference in food safety globally. We foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where every idea is valued and every voice is heard. As our Technical Product Manager, you will be the critical bridge between customer needs, technical solutioning, and product delivery - working hand-in-hand with a dedicated Product Manager to ensure our Food Safety & Quality platform continues to evolve, delight customers, and set the industry standard. You will be embedded in the day-to-day rhythm of product development, from the earliest spark of an idea through to active maintenance and eventual end-of-life planning.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Partner closely with the dedicated Product Manager to understand, communicate, and continuously refine product requirements — translating high-level goals into clear, actionable specifications that engineering and design teams can execute against.
  • Actively manage the product lifecycle across all stages: ideation, conception, development, maintenance, and end-of-life planning — ensuring continuity, quality, and momentum at every phase.
  • Scope and refine product requirements by breaking down complex problems into well-defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that are ready for sprint execution.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies — including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives — as an engaged contributor who bridges the gap between product intent and technical delivery.
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison between cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Sales — keeping stakeholders aligned, informed, and unblocked.
  • Engage directly with customers — including Food Processors, Consumer Packaged Goods companies, and Retail Grocers — to elicit detailed product requirements, validate assumptions, and gather actionable feedback.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations to both internal stakeholders and external customers, clearly articulating the value and functionality of the TELUS Food Safety & Quality platform.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to co-create design requirements, review wireframes and prototypes, and provide feedback to optimize user experience throughout the product development cycle.
  • Manage and maintain a well-groomed product backlog in JIRA, ensuring tickets are detailed, prioritized, and reflect current business and customer priorities.
  • Write clear technical and functional requirements documentation, including configuration specifications and interface definitions, to support engineering and QA teams.
  • Conduct and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that delivered features meet defined acceptance criteria and quality standards before release.
  • Identify and escalate impediments that hinder delivery progress, proactively problem-solving to keep the team moving forward.
  • Track and report on key product delivery metrics, providing transparency to leadership and stakeholders on progress, risks, and outcomes.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in a Technical Product Manager, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role with hands-on involvement in software product delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience with software implementation or development — you understand how software is built and can engage credibly with engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in JIRA for backlog management, ticket creation, and sprint tracking.
  • Strong ability to write detailed, unambiguous product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience engaging directly with customers to gather requirements, validate solutions, and build trust — including delivering product demonstrations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a bias toward tactical, hands-on delivery and execution.
  • Collaborative approach with experience working across cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Sales.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic product environment.

GREAT-TO-HAVES:

  • Experience working with stakeholders in the agricultural value chain — particularly Food Processors/Handlers, Consumer Packaged Goods companies, or Retail Grocers.
  • Familiarity with food safety, quality management, or regulatory compliance concepts.
  • Experience with ERP integrations or data integration projects in a food, agriculture, or supply chain context.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design processes and tools (e.g., Figma), with the ability to contribute meaningfully to design reviews.
