The Product Manager is responsible for the overall success of Sales Order Portal, from conception to launch and beyond. This includes gathering and understanding customer needs, developing product requirements, working with engineering and design to bring the product features to life, and working with marketing and sales to ensure the Sales Order Portal achieves the business goals.

Sales Order Portal equips Ag Retailers and Manufacturers with a centralized hub for all customer order interactions and account management tasks. Consolidating these processes into one easy-to-use platform provides consistency and visibility throughout the buying cycle, enhancing customer experience with the convenience of placing, monitoring, and handling orders whenever and wherever needed. The Sales Order portal supports the Order 2 Cash Use Case and is integrated with the Proagrica Network ensuring our customers can achieve supply chain digitalisation through the use of a B2B integration and the Portal underpinned by the Proagrica Network.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the role of Product Manager:

  • Customer Focus: Gather, evaluate, and have a solid understanding of customer use cases. Maintain close contact with customers to gain a sense for where the market is heading. Create processes that are adept at recognizing customer needs. Meet with external and internal sales teams in various regions to understand market needs for the products under their management. Work closely with the Sales Enablement and Customer Insights team to test proposed product features with customer focus groups to determine market fit. Segment markets and understand the needs of those sub-segments in greater detail.
  • Go to Market & Product Marketing Lifecycle: Working with the marketing team, develop clear go to market launch plans, assist with the creation of sales collateral and formulates internal communications on product updates. Generate the necessary customer onboarding documentation, videos, and training guides for internal and external teams to support features releases of the owned product range. Develops or supports pricing strategy, if applicable. Is independently accountable for portions of launch and strategy execution as assigned. Understanding TAM and how more can be unlocked through innovation of the product.
  • Product Delivery & Development Lifecycle: Have a thorough understanding of the broader product experience and use this knowledge to develop comprehensive prototypes. Drives key end-to-end lifecycle components, from planning to release. Have a thorough understanding of the company's SDLC processes, including agile processes. Helps drive solutions for complicated design challenges. Writes clear requirements for complex features or products and is responsive to requests for clarifications. Manages product without direct supervision, involving manager or other senior leaders only when appropriate. Develops product vision and roadmap plan aligned with business strategy and communicates across all critical stakeholders. Uses knowledge of competitors to inform product decisions and roadmaps. Understands how to use data to drive commercial decisions and growth opportunities for the product.

The product manager is also required to facilitate and manage the execution of the roadmap with their counterparts in Technology to ensure new features and improvements are delivered on time according to the agreed roadmap.

Note competencies required of the product manager:

  • Ideally product management experience within an IT focused organisation.
  • Any exposure to the Ecommerce process, Business to Business integration or Supply Chain product development should be highlighted in the application.
  • Identified, led, and released changes or enhancements that improved customer satisfaction and/or commercial impact.
  • Demonstration of thorough product development knowledge, including the ability to develop related business cases, content, and product plans.
  • Successful participation in customer engagements.

Education to Qualify: Three Year Tertiary qualification in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) is preferred, but not essential. Ability to innovate and unlock opportunities.
