The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join their expanding tax team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio spanning compliance and advisory work across multiple sectors and business sizes. You'll manage complex tax matters while developing strong client relationships and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tax advisory services on corporate restructurings, mergers, and acquisitions
  • Deliver tax due diligence reviews and purchase price allocation support
  • Advise on capital allowances claims and optimization strategies
  • Handle R&D tax credit claims and creative industry tax reliefs
  • Provide guidance on loss relief planning and group restructuring
  • Advise on diverted profits tax, anti-hybrid rules, and international tax matters

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified
  • Minimum 5-8 years in UK corporate tax practice
  • Strong understanding of UK corporation tax, group relief, capital allowances, and international tax principles
  • Experience working with both SMEs/OMBs and larger corporates or listed entities
  • Proficiency in CCH, IRIS, or similar tax software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex tax matters clearly
  • Strong business sense with practical, solution-oriented approach
  • Previous FTSE or listed company tax experience
  • Exposure to M&A tax due diligence and transaction support
  • Knowledge of IAS 12 and deferred tax accounting
  • Experience with international tax matters and transfer pricing
  • Big 4 or top 100 firm background
  • Experience managing HMRC enquiries and technical disputes
  • Understanding of digital tax requirements and tax technology
