Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Contracts and Procurement (C&P) Specialist to support a major transition of operated assets in the North and Southern North Sea from a supermajor to an independent operator. This is a critical role within the transition team, responsible for ensuring seamless transfer and continuity of procurement activities, supplier engagement, and contractual frameworks. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of upstream contracting practices, UKCS regulatory compliance, and proven experience in asset handovers or acquisition environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transition Management:
  • Support the review, assignment, and novation of existing upstream contracts from the incumbent operator.
  • Assess contractual risks, obligations, and continuity provisions tied to the asset transfer.
  • Coordinate closely with legal, technical, and commercial teams during the transition planning and execution phases.
  • Contract Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement fit-for-purpose contract strategies for operations, logistics, drilling, and maintenance activities.
  • Lead procurement and tendering processes for priority contracts in line with UKCS supply chain practices.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and service providers ensuring value-for-money and operational readiness.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Liaise with key suppliers and third parties to manage expectations and clarify transition requirements.
  • Build supplier readiness plans and align procurement schedules with operational milestones.
  • Support onboarding and qualification of critical vendors.
  • Governance & Compliance:
  • Ensure full compliance with UKCS commercial and regulatory frameworks including LOGIC standards.
  • Maintain audit-ready records, contract registers, and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of procurement policies and procedures for the incoming operator.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in contracts and procurement within upstream oil & gas , preferably in the UKCS.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law , LOGIC templates, and supply chain regulations relevant to the North Sea.
  • Experience in asset transition, acquisition, or divestment projects highly desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with contract management systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Ariba).
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., CIPS, law, engineering, or commercial discipline).

Working Environment:

  • Based in central London with hybrid working arrangements (2–3 days onsite).
  • May require occasional travel to Aberdeen or operational hubs as part of stakeholder engagement.
