The Role

We are seeking an experienced Client Manager to join their Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-focused professional to manage a portfolio of established clients while supporting the growth of the practice through exceptional client service and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage and develop relationships with a designated portfolio of clients across various sectors
  • Act as primary point of contact for day-to-day client queries and service coordination
  • Conduct regular client meetings to review performance, identify needs, and discuss opportunities
  • Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and service delivery
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary service delivery across different teams within the firm

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify opportunities for additional services within existing client relationships
  • Support Partners in client presentations and proposal development
  • Participate in networking events and industry functions
  • Contribute to the firm\’s business development strategy and market presence
  • Build relationships with referral sources including legal professionals, financial advisors, and industry contacts

Service Coordination

  • Oversee service delivery across accountancy, tax, audit, and advisory services
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage client onboarding processes and service agreements
  • Coordinate with specialists in areas such as corporate finance, financial planning, and legal services
  • Monitor client profitability and fee recovery
  • Supervise and mentor junior client service staff
  • Contribute to training and development programmes
  • Support workflow management and resource allocation
  • Assist in recruitment and team building activities

Practice Management

  • Contribute to the firm\’s strategic planning and operational improvements
  • Maintain detailed client records and management information
  • Support compliance with professional regulations and quality standards
  • Assist with practice development initiatives and process improvements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Professional Background: 5+ years in professional services, preferably accountancy or financial services
  • Client Management: Proven track record managing client relationships in a professional services environment
  • Business Development: Experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Qualifications: Degree qualified; professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred but not essential
