About the Role
We’re seeking a proactive Accounts and Tax consultant to join a progressive and award-winning accounting practice. You will be fully office-based during your probation period to ensure strong integration with the team and clients.
This role offers the chance to manage a varied portfolio of clients—ranging from small businesses and contractors to startups and self-employed individuals—blending compliance work with client advisory.
Key Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a wide range of client accounts, including statutory accounts, VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts.

Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact, providing timely responses and advisory support.

Technical Expertise: Apply UK accounting standards (FRS 102, UK GAAP) and support tax compliance, including corporation tax and self-assessment.

Team Leadership: Review the work of junior colleagues, provide coaching, and encourage professional growth.

Advisory Work: Spot opportunities to add value, whether through tax planning, R&D claims, IR35 support, or cloud-based accounting solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) Or PQ with ambitions to become qualified, with experience in practice.

Strong technical grounding in UK GAAP, FRS 102, and tax compliance.

Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients with confidence.
