Located in the heart of Farnham in a stunning former bank, our beautiful building features all the classic pub elements, a secluded rooftop terrace, and 9 boutique bedrooms. You will be walking into a (nearly) brand-new, state-of-the-art kitchen that has been the engine room of our success since we recently opened.
We have quickly become one of the go-to destinations in Farnham, and we need a leader to take our high-spec facility to the next level. We don’t just serve food—we serve gloriously good food. Our reputation is built on delivering a proper pub menu packed full of nostalgia and modern twists. From our hearty Full English breakfasts to our legendary Sunday roasts, we are a destination for diners who value quality, seasonality, and fresh ingredients.
The Kitchen & The Role
You’ll inherit an environment where the equipment is in superb condition and the possibilities are endless. This is a role for a culinary professional who wants to set the standard, inspire a team, and take full ownership of a premium food operation. As Head Chef, you will be the driving force of the kitchen, responsible for:
- Creative Autonomy: Unlike many groups, Young’s provides us with full autonomy to design our own menus. You will have the freedom to create seasonal dishes and daily specials that reflect your style and the local market, all while staying true to our vision of "Perfection and Pub Classics."
- Operational Excellence: Maintaining total oversight of kitchen operations, ensuring every plate leaving the pass meets our exacting standards.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Recruiting, training, and developing a high-performing brigade. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of progression and excellence.
- Financial Management: Taking full accountability for the kitchen's financial performance, including GP management and stock control.
- Compliance: Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety and Food Safety are always upheld.
The Investment: Our Offer to You
We offer a clear career path within the prestigious Young’s "RAM-ily." We are committed to our people, evidenced by the fact that many of our senior leaders are internal appointments.
- Salary: Competitive Salary (commensurate with experience) + TRONC + Paid Overtime.
- Work-Life Balance: At the Tellers Arms, we know that a creative and inspired chef needs time to recharge. We are firm believers in a genuine work-life balance. We work hard to ensure our rotas are fair and sustainable, and because we value every hour you put in, we offer paid overtime to ensure you are always rewarded for your dedication.
- Progression: Access to apprenticeships, career development pathways, and senior leadership mentoring.
- Training: Regular culinary masterclasses and supplier trips to source the best seasonal British produce.
- Additional Benefits: 28 Days Holiday per year. A fair share of pub gratuities and service charge. Free meals on shift. 20% discount in all Young’s pubs and hotels. Company Pension Scheme and Share Save Scheme.
