About Telleroo

Telleroo is a B2B payments platform built for UK SMEs to run payroll and supplier payments. We work primarily through accounting firms, who roll us out to their clients, meaning a single accountant partnership unlocks dozens of businesses we serve directly. We are a small, focused team. The work is technical, customer-facing, and high-leverage.

The role

You’ll be the technical face of Telleroo to new customers. You’ll run them through their first demo, own their setup, get their first payments live, and make sure the rollout actually happens. You likely aren’t an extrovert but you do enjoy speaking with people to solve problems. Initially, you’ll focus on our direct business customers, UK SMEs paying staff and suppliers directly with Telleroo. Over time, you’ll move into the higher-leverage work of rolling Telleroo out to accounting firms and their client bases.

This is not a typical Product Specialist role. You’ll be expected to debug product issues, build workflows with AI, understand integrations with Xero and QuickBooks, troubleshoot CSV imports, and have credible technical conversations with finance professionals and feedback findings with the engineering team. We expect you to think, not script.

Key responsibilities

  • Progress to run product demos with prospective customers.
  • Own the implementation lifecycle from sign-up through to first payment live and ongoing relationship handover.
  • Understand our clients' technical setup and feedback how we can improve them to the engineering team.
  • Build out flows with AI to help you with your day-to-day work (we mostly use Claude).
  • Troubleshoot technical issues independently: payments not arriving, file format problems, integration sync errors, and beneficiary setup.
  • Shadow accountant rollouts led by our Senior Salesperson, progressively taking ownership of the technical and operational portion.
  • Identify and document common implementation patterns so future rollouts are faster and more consistent.
  • Work directly with engineering on product or integration issues you surface from the field.
  • Feedback on leads and product to the commercial team to help with acquisition.
  • Report on funnel conversion rates.

The first 12 months

  • Months 1–2: Product immersion. Shadow direct business demos. Handle technical follow-ups under supervision. Begin running simple demos by the end of month 2.
  • Months 3–4: Own end-to-end direct business demos and rollouts. Begin shadowing accountant rollouts with the Sales Manager.
  • Months 5–6: Transition (in consultation with the Sales Manager) onto leading accountant rollouts. Direct business stays in the portfolio but is no longer the primary focus.
  • Months 6–12: Lead accountant rollouts independently, with the Sales Manager on relationship and escalation. Begin coaching subsequent hires.

Who we’re looking for

Essential

  • Computer Science (or technical related) degree.
  • 2–3 years post-graduation experience in a role that is not pure software engineering. For example: solutions engineering, implementation, technical customer success, customer engineering, technical consulting, product, or technical support engineering.
  • Love using Claude or similar.
  • Good communication skills. You’ll be communicating to finance professionals every day.
  • Ability to debug something you’ve never seen before by reading documentation and reasoning about systems.
  • Self-directed. You don’t need someone watching to make sure you’ve done your follow-ups.
  • Calm, listening-oriented temperament. Comfortable in silence; able to hear what an introverted finance professional is actually saying.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a fintech, payments company, or B2B SaaS with technical implementation requirements.
  • A side project, automation, or technical build that demonstrates ongoing curiosity.

Not the right fit

  • Pure account managers with no technical depth.
  • Customer success people from non-technical backgrounds.
  • Recent graduates with zero post-university experience, the ramp here is too steep without it.

Why this is a great opportunity

You’ll own real customer outcomes from your first month, with the safety net of a senior team that is actively invested in your development. Direct exposure to the commercial side of fintech: how deals get done, not just how products get implemented. Small, focused team. Your work compounds visibly and you have direct access to leadership.
