Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council\’s Transport Team who are responsible for the delivery of safe, reliable, sustainable, and innovative value for money transport services to the residents of Telford. A D1 licence is desirable for this role, but we also encourage applications from individuals who would be willing to work towards achieving it. To drive and be responsible for the operation of mini buses which provide specialist transport to passengers, including children with special educational needs, adults with disabilities, social care clients and members of the general public accessing bespoke transport services. The post holder will support clients and their families and work closely with the passenger assistant, and office team to ensure that the safety, comfort and dignity of all passengers is respected at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients and their families and work closely with the passenger assistant and office team to ensure the safety, comfort and dignity of all passengers is respected at all times.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) and organisational skills.
  • Excellent team player with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • A D1 licence is desirable or a willingness to work towards achieving it.
  • Experience in providing passenger transport services, especially to children or adults with disabilities, is advantageous.
