An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly innovative and motivated Development Management Team as a Technical Business Support Officer. You will be fundamental to our success, delivering a varied range of planning and development management services.

You will be a valued member of our team providing excellent business and customer support services across our department. Supporting services include Ecology, Building Control, Built Heritage Conservation and Highways Development Management to deliver professional quality and innovative services to all of our customers.
You will be based in Telford – a vibrant destination in the heart of Shropshire, gateway between the Midlands and Wales, known for its heritage and natural beauty.
Being part of the Development Management team will allow you to help create creative and positive places to live and work, building a safe and sustainable environment.
You Will Be Expected To
- Have a NVQ level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications.
- Preferably have experience of working with legislation, understanding and translating it to customers.
- Provide an essential front‑line service over telephone, e‑mail and face‑to‑face, dealing with often complex queries regarding Planning/Conservation and Building Control issues and those provided by Development Management. An efficient and friendly helpdesk service must be provided.
- Deal with customers in a professional, courteous and unbiased manner, providing high quality customer service.
- Have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to explain service policy and procedures and communicate decisions/requirements effectively to customers.
