Overview
We are looking for a Procurement Team Leader to join our team at Telford & Wrekin Council. The post holder will lead and support a team of \’Places\’ Procurement Officers and a Quality & Data Officer to carry out the full procurement process for designated Places contractual and grant funded arrangements. They will provide the specialist knowledge, advice and guidance to contribute and influence commercial projects and strategy development; work with operational and professional staff in determining contracting requirements; negotiate, establish and monitor contracts and agreements and quality standards; and ensure that effective contract information and administrative systems are maintained. Major tasks include:
Responsibilities
- Contribute to, champion and deliver the vision, priorities and strategies of the Council both internally and externally in accordance with the Council\’s values
- To support and manage the Procurement Officers and Quality and Data Officer through specific procurement and commercial guidance, sharing best practice and knowledge to improve quality of services and outcomes for procurement and contracted services and supplies for corporate and strategic procurement
- Work closely with the Procurement Team Leader People and the Brokerage Team leader to effectively plan and manage workloads and priorities across the teams
- To take responsibility to provide the SDMs and wider councils clients with key information on contracts and timely data to inform Performance Indicators, and ensure that a record of contracts, their prices and details for each tender and contract is maintained.
