There has never been a more exciting time to join our service. We are delivering the Families First for Children programme and the Kinship strategy to achieve the best outcomes for the children and families we work with. Our Fostering Service is innovative and forward thinking, and we are looking for Fostering Practitioners who have experience of working with adults and children and an understanding of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and PACE. We aim to provide an outstanding level of support to all our foster carers.
Our team is experienced, supportive, friendly and passionate. The Mainstream Fostering team works closely with the Family & Friends support team, social workers and managers from other Children’s Services to achieve placement stability and permanence for our children. The service uses a systemic practice approach, supporting foster carers to parent therapeutically.
Our brilliant practitioners are at the heart of an ambitious approach to improve outcomes for children and families in Telford and Wrekin, with access to development opportunities including tailored in-house training and the West Midlands Teaching Partnership.
Responsibilities Support fostering households to ensure stability for children through targeted support, with therapeutic parenting as a central model.
Deliver training and provide support to other services, applicants and carers to develop more cohesive working practices.
Participate in meetings and forums to raise the profile of Telford Fostering.
Collaborate with the Family & Friends support team, Social Workers and managers from other Children’s Services to achieve placement stability and permanence.
Qualifications and experience Experience of working with adults and children.
Understanding of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and PACE.
Ability to deliver training and support to services, applicants and carers.
