About the Role

As a Traffic Engineer, you will contribute to the design, implementation and project management of a wide range of Traffic Engineering schemes. You will provide professional and technical advice across the Council and to external clients, helping ensure we meet our statutory duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed engineering schemes and contract documents.
  • Design and deliver Traffic Engineering and highway projects.
  • Manage projects including financial and programme monitoring.
  • Use AutoCAD, GIS, UTMC/UTC tools and surveying equipment.
  • Undertake technical investigations and feasibility assessments.
  • Provide expert advice and respond to enquiries.
  • Prepare and present reports.
  • Manage contractors and supervise assistant engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and CDM regulations.
