Telford & Wrekin Council are looking to recruit 2 home-working Revenues Officers. You will be part of our award-winning Revenues Team, responsible for either the Collection of Council Tax, Business Rates and Miscellaneous Income accounts (Invoicing & Collection) or for the billing of Council Tax and Business Rates. Full training and ongoing coaching/mentoring will be given. We are looking for individuals who are committed to delivering a quality service to the Telford & Wrekin customers.
Key Requirements
- A broad skill set, as you will be dealing with a wide variety of people, from customers receiving invoices for various services the Authority provides, council tax payers, businesses, benefit claimants and other support agencies.
- Good with numbers, with an ability to interpret and explain legislation, policies and procedures, and be proficient with using IT systems.

Skills and Experience
- An organised approach to work to achieve targets.
- An ability to deal with customers in a professional, courteous and unbiased manner, to provide a high-quality customer service.
- Excellent communication skills; both oral and written to be able to explain legislation, policy and procedures and communicate effectively to customers.
- The ability to process high volumes of work efficiently and effectively with a high degree of accuracy.
- Knowledge surrounding the legislation for Sundry Debt Income, billing and collection of Council Tax, National Non-Domestic Rates and Housing Benefit Overpayments is desirable. However, full training will be provided.
- A sound knowledge of education, excellent communication and customer service skills, along with a pro-active approach to all areas of work with a keen eye for accuracy.
