Being a school governor is a challenging but hugely rewarding role. It will give you the chance to make a real difference to the young people at Old Park Primary School and Nursery, and give something back to our local community.

Responsibilities

  • To set the strategic direction of the school
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of pupils
  • To oversee the financial effectiveness of the school, making sure the money is well spent.

Who can apply / Qualifications

Anyone aged over 18 can be a governor and you do not need to be a parent. There is no requirement for you to have an understanding of the education system, just the necessary skills, character and time to contribute. Essential training is provided, this will help you understand the importance your role will play in the continued success of Old Park Primary School and Nursery. If you have experience in Finance or Premises we would love to hear from you!
