William Reynolds Primary School and Nursery is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have high expectations of both attainment and behaviour, and a commitment to helping all children or individual children achieve their full potential.

We are looking for someone:

  • With a patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
  • Who has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Who is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • With experience of working with children with neurodiversity and/or learning difficulties (desirable).
  • With relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) desirable but not essential.
  • With RWI or phonic knowledge (desirable).

The hours will be 8.30 am - 3.30 pm Monday to Friday including half hour lunchtime duty term time only.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support pupils to complete the planned activities.
  • Establish supportive relationships with the pupils.
  • Report back any issues to staff and parents.
  • Implementing the school's behaviour policy to support the pupils.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on the pupil's progress and achievement.
  • Respond quickly to taking over the management of a whole class within an agreed key stage (Scale 3).
