Telespazio UK has an exciting opportunity for an individual to work in a high‑profile satellite communications project. The role is to provide technical assurance and expertise to the Client for the delivery and design assurance of a geostationary satellite communications system.
This Role Consists Of:
- Monitoring and providing an independent assessment of the supplier’s progress.
- Analysing and reporting risks to the Client.
- Offering recommendations for programme success to the Client.
The team is highly experienced and capable, covering a wide range of engineering disciplines. The Space Segment verification and Satellite DSP lead is not expected to be an expert in every area but should have enough breadth of engineering knowledge to be able to engage with experts and understand complex engineering issues in a multi‑disciplinary environment, as well as adding value in their own specialisms. A vacancy is expected specialising in two areas: Space Segment Verification, and Firmware/DSP.
The successful applicant will be able to undergo security clearance, preferably with experience working within MOD projects or for government suppliers. Whilst the role is largely hybrid there will be a requirement to visit client and suppliers sites to assure their activity. You are also a confident and experienced systems engineer with a knowledge of DSP or satcom payload design; who is able to challenge suppliers on technical problems as well as explain complex topics to non‑specialists. You will also be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills in a technical environment and build consensus and well‑thought‑out technical arguments.
What You Will Do:
- Space Segment Verification Lead: Monitoring and assessing Space Segment‑level Verification processes and documentation. Managing team reviews of evidence supplied to close requirements. Liaising with the supplier to obtain supplementary evidence or clarification. Reporting to the Crown the risks of Acceptance and the suitability of the evidence presented. If unacceptable, suggesting a path to Acceptance to the supplier.
- Firmware/DSP lead: Review of technical documentation of firmware and digital hardware. Monitoring of hardware manufacture and testing. Reporting progress and risks to the Client.
Benefits include work‑life‑balance through flexible working, generous annual leave allowance, award‑winning pension scheme, private healthcare, personal development and training options, and employee discount schemes.
