Reporting to the Operations Delivery Manager, you will be carrying out PWT (Protection Worker on the Track) duties and protect staff whilst on or about the track during engineering hours and to assist the team with labourer tasks. Ensuring a safe worksite and implementing and adhering to site health and safety regulations. This role is to work Nights, Sunday to Thursday 10pm-6am Engineering hours. Our Depot is based in Canning Town E16 4TL.
What you’ll do:
- To undertake protection and ensure that staff are protected in a safe manner whilst working on or about the track.
- Must adhere to Transport at Work Act with particular attention to the Drugs and Alcohol Policy.
- Book on with relevant personnel at the start of duty and book off at the end of the shift.
- Ensure briefings are conducted prior to any work commencing.
- Ensure that NEPA and any notices are read and understood at the start of each shift.
- Post holder must carry out their work and adhere to all QSE formal documentation requirements within Telent.
- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses to their immediate Supervisor so that remedial action can be taken to eliminate risk.
Who you are:
This role would suit a PWT who has their relevant PWT accreditations and who is looking to further develop their career and can grow within Telent in the future.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a PWT EH and also provide labour support when required.
- Hold relevant PWT certification and relevant NVQ.
- Able to produce and maintain records.
- Good communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
