Senior Engineer – Network Infrastructure Senior Engineer 6 Network Services Are you an experienced Senior level Network Infrastructure Engineer, who is passionate about Networks? Telent is looking for a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our Network Services team, delivering expert 3rd line support, build and configuration, and innovative solutions for a prestigious Merseyside based Emergency Services organisation – a cornerstone of safety for millions. It 27s about keeping the critical systems that help save lives running flawlessly. You 27ll be moulded into a 3hybrid working 4 environment, giving you access to a mix of working from home, working out of our Liverpool office (L30 1NY), and travelling to various Merseyside customer sites. The ideal Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer will be a holder of a full UK driving license, has full RTW in the UK and is eligible to gain SC Clearance. Our Emergency Services / Blue Light customer relies on secure, resilient, and cutting-edge Network Infrastructure capabilities, to respond to emergencies 24/7. As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, you 27ll be pivotal in maintaining and enhancing Network Infrastructure across sites, that enables first responders to save lives and protect communities. You will monitor, troubleshoot, fix, build and configure complex Networks requests / incidents / solutions for various Cisco based technologies. As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, your expertise will form the backbone of the ICT environment, supporting day-to-day operations and strategic projects: Deliver expert 3rd line support for Network infrastructure, hardware, applications, and systems, ensuring minimal downtime. Manage the full lifecycle of Network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls and access points. Monitor Network performance and capacity to ensure optimal utilisation, reliability and scalability. Configure, build, test, and implement new Network Infrastructure and ICT solutions that meet stringent operational demands, with some involvement in Design work. Produce and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, network maps, and process workflows. After training, contribute to the 24/7 on-call rota (1 week every 5 weeks), supporting critical incidents and emergencies. Work within ITIL frameworks, ensuring all processes align with best practice and regulatory standards. We 27re seeking a proactive, knowledgeable Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment: Proven experience in a Network infrastructure support role, ideally within Emergency Services or Blue Light Services industries, or a Managed Service environment. Strong operational experience with Cisco Network technologies including routers / routing, switches / switching, firewalls and access points. Excellent understanding of key network protocols and concepts such as OSPF, BGP, NAT, TCP/IP routing, load balancing and high availability. Experience with VPN technologies such as IPSEC, SSTP, PKI, policy/route-based VPNs and VTI/GRE tunnels. CCNA / CCNP accredited – desirable but not essential. Holder of a full UK driving license and readiness to travel across Merseyside sites – flexibility required.
