Reporting into the Head of Focal Engineering, the Principal Engineer will work on a number of exciting Wireless Design and Implementation projects for customers across England in the Education and Government sectors as well as others. This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to travel to our customer sites on occasion.
What you'll do:
- Define and drive the technical strategy for the design and implementation of enterprise-grade wireless network solutions across universities in England, leveraging Cisco and Juniper technologies to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance connectivity.
- Act as the principal design authority, setting technical direction, standards, and best practices for campus wireless and wired infrastructure, ensuring alignment with university digital transformation objectives.
- Develop and review detailed low-level designs (LLDs), high-level designs (HLDs), and implementation plans covering wireless coverage modelling, access layer design, security, and QoS.
