Reporting to the Team Leader, the Level 3 Technician will carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance activities on SISS (Station Information and Security Systems) across our Train Operating Companies contracts, mainly covering the North East region. SISS is essential to ensuring the travelling public are correctly informed and safe as they commute across our customer's rail networks; our maintenance service is critical to the functioning of these systems.
What you'll do:
- Daily reactive maintenance activities across SISS and Telephony systems (CCTV systems, IP Networks, Help Points, Screens, Public Address, CIS, PAVA and Wi-Fi)
- Daily, weekly, monthly and annual planned maintenance activities as defined by the Team Leader
- Remote monitoring of all systems to identify issues and implement fixes
- Testing and fault finding on equipment, systems and associated infrastructure cabling (copper / fibre)
- Undertaking technical investigations and audits
Who you are: The successful person will have previous experience of undertaking maintenance activities, both corrective and planned, to ensure effective restoration/repair of customer systems and ensure all associated processes and reporting requirements are followed.
Key requirements:
- Knowledge of Communications systems and their applications; ideally previous SISS
- Proven fault-finding skills and experience including the use of suitable test equipment
- Proven IT skills (laptop, Office 365)
- Experience of working with SLA driven maintenance contracts
- Good organisational skills, including multitasking and time management
- Full UK driving licence
