We're looking for an experienced SISS System Design Engineer to join our Engineering team, playing a key role in the design and delivery of Station Information and Security Systems (SISS) across major rail infrastructure projects. This is a Hybrid role, and flexibility is required to attend meetings in our Warwick office and travel to sites for surveys as required for the project. Ideally you will be based approx. 1hr from Warwick.
What you’ll do:
- Produce high-quality Station Information and Security Systems (SISS) for telecoms related projects in Train Stations and Depots.
- Design integrated system architectures/design solutions for CCTV/Video Surveillance Systems, Customer Information Systems & Displays (CIS/PID), Public Address (PA) systems, Help Points, Access Control systems and other station communication technologies.
- Deliver engineering activities through Network Rail design stages, including Option Selection, High-Level Design and Low-Level Design.
- Undertake site surveys and technical investigations to support the development of effective engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical, operational and customer requirements.
- Provide technical expertise throughout the design process, supporting successful project delivery across multiple rail infrastructure programmes.
- Working to produce designs which are compliant to the relevant Network Rail and British Standards.
Who you are:
You’ll be an experienced Systems Design Engineer with recent railway SISS design experience and a thorough understanding of engineering design principles. You'll enjoy solving complex technical challenges and working collaboratively to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience designing Station Information and Security Systems (SISS) within the rail industry.
- Experience designing one or more of the following: CCTV/VSS, Customer Information Systems (CIS), Public Address (PA) systems, Help Points and Station communication systems.
- Accompany survey teams and ensure that suitable and accurate data is captured to inform designs.
- Value engineer designs and check for buildability and advise improvements.
- Undertake peer reviews to verify designs by other team members against contractual requirements.
- Flexibility is key as there will be a requirement on occasions to attend sites as needed for the project.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
