Telent is recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join the Transport side of their business. The role will support both the projects team and maintenance team delivering works across London Underground and Network Rail systems. This is a permanent position based from our office near Canning Town; you should attend the office at least one day a week (E16).
What you’ll do:
- Build and maintain network and security systems
- Produce system design documentation
- Create Cyber Security documentation and processes
- Support the creation of cyber security documentation to meet customer standards
- Support the project team to design, test and deliver network upgrades
- Provide technical support and continual improvement for rail’s cyber security approach
- Carry out network and security design works for customer networks
- Provide a technical interface to the client as needed
- Support the design and integration of the SIEM platform
- Support customer networks and systems for rail customers
- Work with other teams to improve systems security and monitoring
Who you are:
- Experience with producing or maintaining Cyber security processes and procedures
- Experience with maintaining and configuring firewalls including Cisco and Juniper
- Experience designing, building, testing and maintaining network equipment (switches, routers and firewalls)
- Experience designing, building, testing and maintaining Windows Server architectures
- Experience working in a London Underground environment (desirable but not essential)
- Experience working with network support tools including network management systems and policy enforcement
- Experience working with Microsoft Sentinel SIEM
Key Requirements:
- HND or above in an engineering/Computer discipline or 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Cisco CCNP or possibly CCNA with aspirations to complete the CCNP
- Any Security accreditation would be beneficial including CISSP or CompTIA CYSA+
- ITIL foundation
- Effective communicator (both written and verbal)
- Proven experience within a networks or security infrastructure environment
- Demonstrable emotional intelligence to communicate effectively and positively with customers and colleagues in a challenging environment
