What you’ll do:
- The successful apprentice experience will consist of a variety of different rotations throughout our business unit aimed at progressing your skills, knowledge and personal development.
- You will gain a valuable insight into the inner workings of various departments across Network Services, specifically within the Network Operations Centre (NOC), Lab environment and Service Desk.
- This is an exciting role with great opportunities to progress your career and contribute to real life projects.
- Learn how networks are built and operated in technical detail.
- Perform quarantine, goods in and FAT tests across a variety of vendor networking equipment.
- Focus on activities performed by the Network Services Network Operations Centre (NOC).
- Understand OSS platforms used by the NOC.
- Understand all services provided on the Telent Cloud Services Platform including PaaS, IaaS & BaaS.
- Understand the differences between managed and unmanaged services.
- Build out basic troubleshooting processes for the Telent Cloud Services Platform.
- Adhere to GDPR policy around sensitive data held on devices or central shares.
- Handle and protect Telent information and report security incidents as defined in the Information Security Policy and HR Information Security Policy.
- Attend customer premises with senior engineers for install and commissioning work and faults.
- Attend technical workshops.

- We don’t require individuals with experience as we will provide full training in all aspects of the role from how to use tools or software.

- Knowledge and interest in all things ICT will be important.
- You will be working in various environments so someone with a keen interest in Networks, Cloud, IT infrastructure as you will be building valuable skills across these teams.
- You will be involved in various stages of complex work and you will be hands on the equipment in our labs.
- You will get a mobile phone and a laptop as part of the role.
- Although supported throughout the programme by us at Telent you will need to take ownership of your tasks and personal development.
- Client and customer service is critical to the services we provide customers.
- Have a positive work ethic and be organised.
- Communication is vital; you will need to be an effective communicator both in writing and verbally.
The requirements:
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade 4 or higher (or equivalent qualification). This must include Maths, English and a Science or IT based subject.
- Desirable to have additional A-levels or an equivalent qualification in a related subject.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Must be over the age of 18 by September 2026.
- Able to pass full Security Clearance vetting for access to secure information, site access and confidential permissions.
Programme Specifics:
- This apprenticeship is typically 24 months in duration.
- Starting salary of £17,500 which will increase throughout the duration of the programme.
- The qualification you gain will be a Level 3 Information Communications Technician.
- Our chosen training provider Lifetime Training will support you in obtaining your qualification.
- Predominantly office based at our Farnborough site and will have visits to other Telent and client sites.
- On completion of your apprenticeship, we hope to offer you a full-time position with Telent where you can continue to progress your career.
