Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Design Engineer will be tasked with designing, building, testing, developing and creating the installation and maintenance methods for products, structures, systems or processes associated with Electrical Power systems. This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our Warwick HQ and to visit UK based Rail sites on an ad-hoc basis.
What you'll do:
- Develop electrical designs and detailed technical plans, schematics, and installation instructions.
- Take concepts from initial design through to implementation, including production and site installation.
- Design electrical distribution and power systems, including AC/DC, UPS, battery systems, circuits, and cabling.
- Apply mathematical and scientific principles to create real-world, workable solutions to engineering challenges.
- Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure and ensure designs are practical and compliant.
- Produce technical reports and regulatory documentation to demonstrate compliance with standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, site staff, and project managers to support project delivery.
Who you are:
You are a qualified Electrical Engineer with experience in designing and delivering electrical power systems. You take ideas from concept to installation, producing clear technical plans, reports, and instructions. You are confident working with multi-disciplinary teams and on-site surveys, and you have a practical, problem-solving approach to electrical design.
Key Requirements:
- Previous Electrical Design experience - Battery Storage Design, Operational circuits, battery back up.
- Minimum HND/BEng Degree level of education, or equivalent experience in a relevant sector.
- Proven experience in a past or current Electrical Engineering role.
- Competent all-round verbal and written communication skills.
- Applying problem-solving and engineering principles to practical solutions.
- Working effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and site staff.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Flexibility to travel when needed.
