The Role: We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to ensure our client's premises are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times. The role involves carrying out general repairs, maintenance, and site duties, as well as supporting with health and safety compliance and minor refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of the school site and buildings
- Perform general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting
- Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and ventilation systems
- Ensure the school grounds are tidy and safe
- Manage contractors and service providers when on-site
- Carry out regular health and safety checks, fire alarm tests, and record keeping
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
- Support with setting up rooms for events or special activities
About You:
- Can provide an up-to-date DBS Check
- Previous experience in a maintenance or caretaking role (school experience an advantage)
