Job Description
As a Senior Application Architect you will help customers rapidly visualise, design and deploy applications into cloud-native architectures patterns. This is a hands-on and customer facing role helping organisations build cloud-native prototypes of applications or components and reimagine their application portfolio and SDLC for cloud.
This role sits inside our Strategic Cloud Consulting team who work at the start of the customer lifecycle, delivering rapid time to value projects via our unique delivery methodology, before we design and deliver long term consulting and managed service projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and whiteboard with customers to understand application strategy, technical constraints and modernisation enabling mechanisms.
- Rapidly design and build cloud-native prototypes of customer applications onto with modern and automated toolchains, and new DevOps ways of working.
- Lead software strategy across the full-stack to redesign the software architecture and embed modern software development lifecycle processes.
- Build and present an application demo portal, showcasing the latest and greatest in cloud and application architecture.
- Lead on AI driven approaches to application development and management, helping our customers embed AI, ML and automation into process flows.
- Collaborate with sales, pre-sales and cloud teams across the full customer lifecycle to be an expert on engineering modern applications.
- Work with our tooling partners to bring modern toolchains to our customers to rapidly visualise software applications.
Skills / Experience
- Full-stack software engineering experience, designing, building and operating modern applications.
- Hands-on expertise with a tech stack consisting of docker, containerisation, Terraform, Azure, IaaS, PaaS, microservices and API management.
- Proficiency in modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Expert understanding of cloud technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, and FaaS, as well as cloud-native services such as containers, serverless computing, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with enterprise applications and estates (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to create positive and professional business relationships with partners and customer stakeholders.
