As a FinOps Engineer you will help to drive cost optimisation and efficiency in cloud environments. This is a hands-on role that will help organisations drive cost efficiencies in their cloud environments by continually aligning FinOps capabilities to optimise spend and deliver maximum value from their public cloud investment.

Responsibilities

  • Examine, analyse, and prioritise cloud cost optimisation recommendations and calculate potential savings and benefits using FinOps tools.
  • Implement rate and usage optimisations within public cloud environments (Azure, AWS and GCP).
  • Guide our customers in making cost-effective architectural decisions.
  • Communicate FinOps principles to key stakeholders with our customers.
  • Collaborate with managed services teams to design and implement cost optimisation recommendations and best practices.
  • Build and manage a backlog on cost-saving initiatives.
  • Architect and develop automation runbooks to help drive cloud cost efficiencies, along with continual development of Policy as Code initiatives, further bolstering Cloud Cost Governance.
  • Hands-on experience implementing FinOps to optimise cloud costs, with a deep understanding of levers available to optimise cloud costs.
  • Strong understanding of the FinOps Framework, capabilities, lifecycle and domains.
  • Hands-on experience with native and third-party public cloud cost management tools such as IBM Cloudability and KubeCost.
  • ServiceNow experience as a Cloud Management Platform.
  • Strong DevOps skills, including Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, along with RedHat Ansible.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and client relationships.
  • Highly strong numerical and finance skills to investigate data and spot trends and anomalies.
  • Certifications such as FinOps Practitioner or FinOps Professional, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, and Google Cloud Digital Leader Certification.
