What you’ll do
The Field Service Support Engineer provides service, and repair of Gas detection equipment and systems, with a highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, commissioning as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting.
They instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system and serve as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
Interprets customers’ needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide daily service, repair and commissioning labour. Specifically to:
- Plan and undertake routine service calls within defined territory, maximising productive time and service revenue and allowing sufficient time to respond to emergency call outs.
- Ensure the maintenance of an appropriate level of spares, consumables and accessories carried in the company vehicle to support the efficient performance of servicing and repairs.
- Control individual expenses within agreed budget levels and to maintain company assets in line with maintenance schedules.
- Ensure that any test equipment is calibrated and tested at the defined intervals.
- In addition to the above, to be responsible for any other appropriate duties, as instructed by your Manager/Supervisor.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to Service Manager with call plans for following week.

- Based from home location, Ideally Birmingham or surrounding areas. Travel to sites within assigned territory.
