Teledyne Bowtech specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of underwater harsh environment vision systems, deployed in the harshest environments within the ROV AUV, oil and gas, defence, oceanographic, nuclear, leisure and marine science industries.
We are looking for a QHSE Coordinator to work with our managers and Production team, taking responsibility for ensuring a safe and environmentally conscious workplace for our employees and visitors as well as working to contain and resolve product and service non-conformities through inspection and root cause analysis. You will also maintain and develop our management system and ensure continued ISO Certification is key to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and review risk assessments for all manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes and create an action plan for the mitigation of identified risks.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant QHSE legislation, standards and company policies and review and maintain the legislation register.
- Complete regular audits of the H&S, quality and environmental management and physical control elements, processes and procedures.
- Participate in customer visits and audits.
- Support supplier audits as lead auditor.
- Communicate effectively both visually and verbally to increase engagement to further develop our established QHSE culture.
- Prepare and work with quality documentation with regards to orders, deliveries or audits.
- Coordinate the response and resolution of non-conformances arising from our internal processes and when highlighted to us by our customers and third-party auditors.
- Lead investigation and resolution of hazard observations, near misses and accidents to understand, identify and correct the root cause of incidents.
- Provide advice and guidance to the Aberdeen team on issues relating to Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety.
- Along with Head of business operation prepare and organize, execute and present the annual Safety Day and any Corporate environmental initiatives.
- Provide QHSE support throughout all phases of customer projects.
- Support onsite facilities e.g. contractor permits, coordination of onsite maintenance.
- Manage MRBs, NCRs and 8Ds.
Behaviours, Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional certification.
- Relevant QEHS experience in Manufacturing or Oil & Gas / Energy industry.
- Strong Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
- Clear communicator with the confidence to lead and motivate others to achieve planned outcomes.
- Team oriented with the ability to recognise inter-functional customer/supplier relationships.
- Focused on proactive prevention and logical identification of root cause (5Y, fishbone diagrams, pareto charts, FMEA).
- Organised and numerate with a systematic and disciplined approach to administration.
- Practical IT skills proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Expected to support if needed in other areas during vacation/sickness.
