Job Summary
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for evolving, maintaining, deploying, and monitoring secure and scalable software delivery pipelines and operational infrastructure that support Teledyne Controls, LLC avionic devices and related technologies. The DevOps Engineer will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, lead secure deployment practices, resolve operational issues, and ensure the reliability of deployed software solutions. They will collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery and monitoring of high-quality software, following our quality procedures and product roadmap.
Detailed Description
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Automate and manage application deployments using tools such as GitHub Actions, with support for blue/green and canary strategies.
- Develop and maintain monitoring systems to track application performance, availability, and security.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Embed security controls and compliance checks into CI/CD workflows and deployment processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and QA to deliver secure and reliable software solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineering teams on DevSecOps best practices and tooling.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Arts (BA) or Science (BA) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, in addition to 2-3+ years of professional or professional-equivalent experience in DevOps or related roles.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
- Proficiency in IAC such as Terraform, Cloud Formation or CDK.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK).
- Knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure management.
- Understanding of security best practices in software delivery and cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
