Job Purpose
The Quality Technician role will report to the Quality Manager at the Teledyne Energetics site in Lincoln. The Quality Technician will support manufacturing by ensuring robust quality processes, compliance to standards and continuous improvement of product and process quality. The role provides technical quality support to production and engineering, lead investigations, drive corrective actions and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and internal requirements. Reinforcing safe working practices, quality best practice and the company’s Business Operating System (BOS). The successful candidate will be required to work a shift pattern, including afternoons/evenings (a shift premium will be paid where applicable).

- Promote and maintain a strong safety‑first culture
- Ensure quality processes and inspection methods are safe and compliant
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Challenge unsafe behaviours and support corrective actions
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures and customer requirements
- Support regulatory compliance and audit readiness
- Maintain and improve quality procedures and documentation
- Control non‑conformance, concessions and deviations
- Maintain compliant quality records and manage stamp authorisation
- Quality Best Practices & Governance
- Support and improve quality best practices across the organisation
- Provide guidance on MRB, FRB, self‑inspection, LPAs and Quality Council
- Support effective operation of quality governance forums
- Promote a proactive quality culture and right‑first‑time mindset
- Production Quality Support
- Provide day‑to‑day quality support to production and engineering
- Support in‑process and final inspection as required
- Investigate and resolve quality issues in a timely manner
- Support communication of quality issues across shifts and departments
- Business Operating System & Daily Management
- Reinforce BOS and participate in daily/tier meetings
- Maintain and review quality KPIs and visual management boards
- Support structured escalation and issue resolution
- Drive adherence to standard work and quality processes
- Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Identify improvements to reduce defects and improve capability
- Support CI and lean initiatives
- Analyse data and trends to drive proactive improvements
- Support NPI and introduction of new products/processes
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in a quality engineering or technician role in manufacturing
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and quality requirements
- Strong problem‑solving and RCA experience (5 Why, fishbone, A3, 8D etc.)
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Experience managing NCRs, CAPAs and quality documentation
- Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Competent IT skills and experience with quality systems
- Methodical, analytical and detail‑focused approach
Desirable
- Experience in AS9100 or other regulated industries
- Use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Experience with MRB/FRB or quality governance forums
- CI/lean experience (5S, waste reduction, standard work)
- Qualification in engineering or quality discipline
