Job Outline
This exciting new opportunity is located on the North Wales site for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
The successful candidate will be part of a strong engineering team and will be responsible for the design of mechanical solutions in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines in a fully functioning Machine Shop.
- Set up relevant machinery to ensure efficient production of precision components within correct dimensions suitable for further processing.
- Read and interpret complex design drawings.
- Ensure health and safety is adhered to and maintained within the workshop.
- Improve ways of working in the machine shop to reach greater productivity.
- Satisfy required quality and operating standards throughout each stage of manufacture to achieve optimum quality.
- Instruct other employees in the operation of machinery and processes and assist other personnel in the department.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work area in accordance with the operator’s maintenance schedule and required departmental standards.
- Support business needs by operating across the whole department as required and fully participate in ongoing process/business improvement programmes.
- Plan and produce one‑off type components and special project work which is outside the average production level of work.
- Personal Specification
- Mechanical Engineering Technical Certification.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Mechanical Engineering Qualification or demonstrated experience.
- Experience of NC machining – setting and running.
- Understanding of health and safety in the workshop.
- Candidate flexibility may be required.
