An exciting new opportunity has opened at the North Wales site for four degree apprentices to join the engineering department. The primary target areas for these apprenticeships are electronic design, technical programme management and manufacturing engineering, but the apprenticeships are not limited to these areas if the candidate shows interest in, and aptitude for, the other areas within the department during their apprenticeship. Job Outline

We are seeking highly self‑motivated, creative and hard‑working candidates. In these roles the candidates will be responsible for completing an engineering degree and an internal training plan alongside day‑to‑day tasks within the work environment. The candidate’s responsibilities will increase as their knowledge and understanding develops but could include the following:

  • Working within a multi‑disciplinary design team to develop new products and processes
  • Driving the “new product introduction” process for a design through to completion
  • Presenting technical or programme information to both internal and external audiences
  • Providing technical support to other areas of the business
  • Implementing new product designs into production, including training out of information and processes

Qualifications Required

It is essential that all applicants have a high level of general education and must have, or expect to receive, a minimum of two A‑levels with B grades or higher (excluding general studies). The role requires proficiency with mathematics and physics, so at least one of the A‑levels must be in mathematics and/or physics. Applicants should also hold GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in mathematics and science at grade 6 or above, and English at grade 5 or above. Applications will also be considered from candidates who have completed, or part‑completed, a relevant engineering degree course. Please provide details of modules completed, along with results.

Personal Specification

The ideal candidate should have the following experience and attributes:

  • A desire to continue learning to at least degree level
  • Strong attention to detail, good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
  • Experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent time management – ability to complete external qualifications whilst working full‑time
  • Driving licence
  • Good problem‑solving skills
