Pensions Analyst in Chelmsford, Essex

This position requires a basic understanding of Customs compliance regulations and day‐to‐day customs operations. The role will support local Customs compliance activities for the assigned location and work closely with internal stakeholders, with guidance and oversight from senior compliance personnel.

The individual with this responsibility will also play a key role in driving efforts to create a positive and inclusive work environment and culture across the site. Responsible for ensuring effective import and export compliance processes, and practices at Teledyne E2V in Chelmsford, in accordance with domestic and foreign trade laws and regulations and Teledyne Technologies corporate customs compliance policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing support to the Customs Compliance officer to implement elements of the Customs compliance program, including import control touchpoints, functional instructions and other documentation; trade data points such as HTS classification, country of origin, Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility, valuation, export requirements, etc.;
• Reviewing and/or validating Customs entries for accuracy and compliance with customs regulations and CITC policies and procedures;
• Managing Inward Processing Relief for multiple sites;
• Providing quarterly and yearly reporting, conducting regular customs compliance training for functional groups;
• Conducting periodic audits and self-audits and implementing corrective action, as required;
• Assisting in trade investigations and providing support to other Teledyne sites as and when required.

Knowledge and experience required:

• Knowledge of UK & EU Customs Laws and Regulations;
• Some experience in utilizing Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), using proper valuation methods, conducting and documenting classifications, Preferential Origin qualification, evaluating MSS Data, Customs Special Procedures;
• Strong computer skills would be an asset;
• Experience with collecting and analyzing data and preparing concise and timely reports.
