What you\’ll be involved in
You will work with a team of multidisciplinary Engineers working at the forefront of development projects, providing your design knowledge in aiding the business to develop safety critical designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept to implementation.
The Electronics Engineer will perform a hands-on role to carry out Engineering tasks on specific projects in addition to providing coordination and coherence across all projects. The role will enable learning points and best practice to be shared throughout the team and will ensure efficient future development through commonality and re-use of designs, verification, and qualification data.
Some aspects for the role will include:
- Join our Engineering family as an Electronic Design Engineer, developing ground up discrete bespoke electronic packages.
- Working within a multi-functional team to develop innovative solutions to high reliability safety critical products.
- Key stakeholder in design methodology, developing solutions which are not only novel but cost-effective.
- Renovate existing product lines through obsolescence reviews, supporting the on-going usage of legacy products.
- Liaising with the wider engineering group, including mechanical design, reliability, compliance, purchasing and manufacturing team.
- Integral part of design reviews, providing inputs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support product investigation on customer issues and failure mode analysis.
- Provide manufacturing support for product assessment, testing assembly design and routes to manufacture
What we\’re looking for in you
The successful candidate for this role will have good overview of discrete electronic Engineering principles.
- Degree/HNC/HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experienced in discrete electronic devices involving passives, diodes, transistors, transformers, op-amps, logic gates etc
- Experienced in Flyback Transformer operation and/or design, knowledge in other DC/DC Converter topologies desired but not mandatory.
- Competent in assembly of electronic components and testing hardware.
- Competent with design software such as CADSTAR etc
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated approach to work, managing personal workload
- Problem solver capable of working alone or as part of the wider team.
- Conforming designs to legalisation and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in report writing and presentation of data / designs
- Exposure to Safety Critical design requirements & experience in the Defence sector would be beneficial but not essential.
Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to gain full UK Security Clearance once in the business.
