Teledyne Energetics UK have been designing and developing solutions for the safety, arming, and initiation technology sector since 1984. This includes military energetic devices from components through to complete systems. Some of the flagship product lines include active vehicle safety systems, sea mine fuzes, modular artillery fuzes, flight termination units, electronic Safe & Arm Units, and electronic Ignition Safety Devices. Teledyne Energetics also delivers a range of services to its global customer base. Design services include modelling and testing of fully packaged circuitry for control and initiation of detonators, which are carried out at our fully licensed site at Lincoln.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to grow their career within engineering for energetic devices such as detonators, strip line cables and safety arming units. The Quality Engineer ensures products, processes, and systems comply with stringent regulatory, customer, and industry standards throughout the full lifecycle. The role focuses on risk management, root cause analysis, validation, and continuous improvement, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory stakeholders. They play a key role in preventing defects, supporting audits, and maintaining robust documentation to ensure consistent quality and compliance.

  • Ensuring customer defined quality KPIs are met
  • Supporting Operations in achieving an environment of continuous improvement through identifying best practice and championing changes working closely with Process Engineers
  • Leading Quality Root Cause and Corrective actions through Quality methods such as 8D, A3
  • Producing Right-First-Time data, publishing results and utilising them to direct efforts/focus
  • Liaising with all areas of the business, at all levels, together with suppliers and customers in resolving product quality related issues
  • Building effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Risk mitigation and analysis (FMEA PFMEA/DFMEA)

Be willing to undergo UK Government Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. A high standard of formal education (preferably to HNC level or equivalent) providing the ability to have a technically credible dialogue with the engineering and production teams. Quality Assurance experience within a precision manufacturing environment. Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements. A time served background in an engineering discipline. Fully competent in the use of PCs (Microsoft Office Applications) as detailed technical report generation will be required. An extensive knowledge of Energetics products and processes, together with an understanding of the Teledyne Energetics Quality Management System.
