In Brief
As a Mental Health Advisor you will provide confidential emotional support to service users and provide advice and guidance around mental health and other issues. The Helpline is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Contract type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week on average) – Shift rota including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays (on a rolling rota)
Location: Remote (very occasional travel for meetings/training)
What You’ll Do
- Provide confidential emotional support and mental health guidance to service users.
- Support clients in accessing therapy through our myStrength App.
- Conduct risk assessments and create individual Risk Support Plans.
- Collaborate with the duty lead to manage risk effectively.
- Maintain high-quality clinical notes and service records.
- Participate in peer and clinical supervision, team meetings, and training.
- Contribute toa supportive, high-quality mental health service.
What You Need
Essential
- Experience delivering Single Session Therapy.
- Strong telephone and digital communication skills.
- Ability to write concise clinical notes.
- Experience in risk assessment and managing crisis situations remotely.
- A genuine passion for mental health, with the ability to support and signpost clients effectively.
- Qualifications: Level 2/3 Counselling Certificate, or a Psychology degree, or equivalent.
- High levelof IT literacy (CRM experience preferred).
Desirable:
- Previous experience in telephone or virtual mental health support.
